This trip was my first time leaving the country and the reason I now have a passport! I was really excited to experience the hustle and bustle of traveling and going from airport to airport. I couldn’t wait to experience this world from a different timezone, and climate! I spent two months perfecting my wardrobe and everything I bought, including my first ever suitcase.
About 8 hours before we left for the trip I started to feel really sick. My head got stuffy, I was dizzy and felt off. I wasn't able to get more than 4 hours of sleep and that didn't make the matter any better. We drove from our house to a friend's house about 30 minutes away and then they drove us another 30 minutes to the airport. We were leaving the car at their house while we were away. We got to the airport and my health just kept depleting. I was getting too hot, then too cold then very nauseous, etc. This went on the ENTIRE time we were traveling. I spent 2 hours of one plane ride in the bathroom because I was so ill. Getting as sick as I was is horrible, let alone being in a tiny airplane bathroom when this is your first flight longer then hour and a half and your first time leaving the country. Going through customs when we got to Mexico is the sickest and weakest I ever remember feeling in my entire life. It was terrible. But I survived (barely) lol!
When we finally got the the resort I was speechless. I have never seen a place so beautiful! There was a lot of time spent standing around because the room that my boyfriend’s Aunt and boyfriend requested wasn’t available. I had to sit down so I elected to go sit outside on one of the lounge chairs near the pool. It was so nice! If you are going to be sick, might as well do it in paradise!
The resort has three pools which were all connected to each other in one way or another but all had different temperatures!
Unfortunately I was sick the entire trip up until the day before we left. I was able to get some momentum earlier on in the day but if there was a lot of walking or standing involved I started to feel worse and worse. Thankfully the day we planned the party dinner cruise was the night before we left, so I felt my best for that!
Check out some photos below;
