Cupcake cakes were the first creative culinary project I did repeatedly, got great feedback for and continued to try more complex designs on. The first one was the cupcake shaped cupcake cake for my friend/roommate's birthday. Then I made the two princess dress cupcake cakes for one of my other friend's baby shower. She only wanted one cake but I ended up making enough cupcakes for two, oops! Then another of my friends was getting married so I made the wedding dress and engagement ring cupcake cakes for her bridal shower. These kind of cakes are the best for parties, no need to have cake cutting utensils on board!
